'TIS THE SEASON TO TALK GI

Leading industry title Mortgage Introducer has released its latest edition and with it, an article by-lined by our Sales Director James Watson focusing on how your clients can protect their homes over the colder months.

Winter weather is a notorious culprit for causing damage around the home and in doing so, racking up huge bills. But it doesn’t have to be this way, James explains; advisers can help clients to insulate themselves against large costs such a burst pipe – the repair of which, on average, could set them back a whopping £5,569! – by making sure that they have the correct home insurance in place for their needs.

This is acutely important this year, James emphasises, given the financial pressures many face due to Covid-19.

James also shares some of his top tips in the article, including the importance for advisers to stress the importance of general home maintenance activities to their clients – not only to protect homeowners from hefty one-off costs but also to ensure that they do not invalidate their existing home insurance, rendering themselves liable to a bigger financial hit down the line.

Don't forget, you can also download and share our storm and flood guides with your clients, to help provide them with practical advice that continues to deliver value all the way into winter.

Read James’ article in the latest issue of Mortgage Introducer, either in print or online, on page 30.
